Kayak Sails
/ Paddle Wings
The Lincoln Quoddy-Lite
kayak and a Paddle-Wing sail are the perfect combination to fly across
the water. Unlike other kayak sails, this patented sail attaches to
the paddle (not to you or the boat), and can be easily deployed or
stowed in minutes depending on wind conditions. No rudder is needed to
sail downwind or 90° to either side. Paddle Wings will fit paddles
from 220-240 cm and 1 to 1 and 3/16 diameter.

About our Paddle
Sails/Wings:
PADDLE WINGS will let you and your kayak fly
across the water!
Keep the sail full of wind, even if this means holding it parallel to
your boat. With a rudder or skeg or using your paddle as a leeboard,
your WINGS will work downwind or 90° to either side . Also, an easy
method of steering is to lightly drag one paddle blade or the other.
Like all sailboats, speed is faster across the wind than downwind.
At higher wind
speeds, grip the mast as high up as possible to limit bending of the
mast. For light winds, you can increase speed by holding your paddle
higher or at a 90° angle to the water which exposes more sail area to
the wind.
The WINGS will fit paddles from 220 to 240 cm in length, and paddle
shafts from 1to 1 3/16 diameter. The brackets can be adapted to
smaller diameter paddle shafts by applying several layers of friction
tape.
The mast is carbon fiber, and all metal fittings are stainless steel
except for the split-rings. The latter will rust eventually, but can
be replaced at any hardware store. After use in seawater, the WINGS
and paddle should be rinsed in freshwater.
Dont put away your WINGS in the winter ! Mount them on a standard
wooden closet pole and use them with a sled, x-country skis or skates.
